GUTHRIE, Ky. (October 26, 2010) – A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in the city of Guthrie, Kentucky Tuesday morning to announce Todd County’s newest employer, Midwest Sales, Inc., headquartered in Saginaw, Michigan. Midwest Sales, Inc. is a leading distributor of insulation products, asbestos abatement, indoor air quality and safety products serving industrial, commercial, residential and building insulation solutions.

Present to make the announcement was the company’s CEO and owner, Robert J. Bordeaux, technical sales representative and engineer Jim Meier and Guthrie’s officials and civic leaders.

Bordeaux chose Guthrie as the location of the new branch of Midwest Sales primarily due to the close proximity to the multi-billion dollar Dow Corning Hemlock Semiconductor plant currently under construction north of Clarksville, Tennessee. Bordeaux commented that he preferred the Guthrie community to Clarksville and other potential locations as the new base for Midwest Sales, Inc. due to the local hospitality of Guthrie locals.

“I learned a new song last night and it goes, ‘the sun shines bright on my old Kentucky home,’” commented Bordeaux, who then declared that, “the sun is shining bright on our 26-year old company and our new Kentucky home.”

Guthrie Mayor Scott Marshall, Todd County Judge Executive Arthur Green, State Representative Martha Jane King, members of the Guthrie City Council and Todd County Industrial Foundation officiated the groundbreaking, welcoming Bordeaux and Midwest Sales, Inc. to Guthrie.

Mayor Scott Marshall commented that the effort to recruit Midwest Sales, Inc. was aided by supporters, many of which were present at the groundbreaking ceremony.  Marshall said Bordeaux’s business values are a good match for the city of Guthrie and the Todd County community.

Since last November, Guthrie and Todd County officials have welcomed other new industries including the Dilling Group and last week, Hovey Electric to Guthrie.  Collectively, the three new industries, each a supplier to Hemlock Semiconductor, will create over 100 new jobs to the area.

The company will be located in a new facility under construction at Guthrie’s Commerce Park. Company officials plan to be fully operational by the end of the year.
