Introduction to Guthrie Main Street Organization
Guthrie Main Street is a nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing and preserving downtown Guthrie, Kentucky. It is accredited by both the Kentucky Main Street Program and the National Main Street Center. Therefore, the organization protects the town’s cultural heritage and promotes sustainable development. In fact, its mission emphasizes that a vibrant downtown is essential for maintaining historical integrity and supporting economic growth.

A Place to Call Home
The commercial district of Guthrie reflects the entire community and plays a crucial role in the local economy. For this reason, every resident has a stake in downtown’s future. Moreover, the success of Guthrie Main Street depends on the active participation of the entire community. Whether volunteering on committees, organizing events, shopping locally, or attending Main Street activities, these efforts collectively contribute to revitalizing downtown.
Key Achievements and Investments
Over the years, Guthrie Main Street has significantly contributed to the town’s revitalization. Since its inception, more than $1.7 million has been invested in downtown Guthrie through grants. Some key projects include the Guthrie Transportation Museum & Welcome Center, the Guthrie Streetscape Project, and the successful nomination of downtown Guthrie as a Historic District on the National Register.

- Terri R. Douglas, Board Member: Terri is dedicated to maintaining small-town values and fostering a thriving community.

The board is nominated annually by Guthrie Partners for Main Street’s membership, ensuring that community input remains integral to the organization’s leadership.
